Estate planning in the digital age (12.00 -1.00pm ET)

As the world rapidly digitizes, so has estate planning. Here, our expert panel will look at the contemporary drivers and trends when it comes to digitization and the estate planning process.

During the session, our speakers will review the following themes:

Collaborative estate planning in action (1.00 - 2.00pm ET)

The estate planning process is facing increasing complexity due to a number of key drivers. These centre around addressing the largest generational transfer of wealth in history already well underway; managing complex, multi generational and jurisdictional family estates and new expectations in terms of service delivery from clients.

In order to help clients navigate this complexity and deliver results, professional advisers must up their game. Not only in terms of their specific areas of expertise but also the increased requirement (and expectation) for increased collaboration with other professionals, more nuanced and sophisticated approaches to estate planning and the increasing importance of technology to enable it.

On this panel, our speakers will review:

Thursday, December 2nd: 12-2pm ET

Best practices in managing the estate transfer process (12.00 -1.00pm ET )

On this panel - we’ll outline the key tenets of the estate transfer process, common pitfalls and the role that technology can play in supporting the process.

  • The key tenets and strategies available when it comes to the estate transfer process including: the importance of wills, trusts and comparing strategies around probatable and non-probatable assets.

Innovation and its impact on the estates ecosystem (1.00 - 2.00pm ET)

As digitization across society and business accelerates, so does the need for the estates ecosystem to innovate. At its core, estate planning, administration and distribution requires professionals from multiple disciplines to collaborate on complex matters. For end users – coordination, planning and execution during the estates process is often seen as opaque, slow and primarily analogue. This creates opportunities for agents and drivers of change and poses risks for those who don’t adapt.

In this session, our speakers will focus on the challenges and opportunities faced by estate professionals when it comes to collaboration and new, design driven approaches to estate planning and administration. They'll also look at how innovative platforms (financial, technology and new approaches to client intake and management) are helping to enhance the experience and deliver better outcomes - for both professionals in their practices and their clients.

Speakers:

Jordan Atin, Counsel + Co-Founder of e-State planner, Hull & Hull

Emma Michael, Partner, Aion Law Partners

Max Ezerins, Chief Product Officer, Settify

Amanda Bafaro, Chief Risk Officer and General Counsel, BridgePoint

Chair:
Arin Klug, Co-Founder, Epilogue Wills
